After your Time Topics are configured, you should decide if you wish to utilize some
special features available in the OPC Time Monitor before you activate your configuration.
The OPC Time Monitor supports the ability to "browse through" and "auto-discover" available OPC servers on local and remote machines. These options are configured by clicking File-->Server Settings from the OPC Time Monitor main menu
which displays the dialog shown below. From this same dialog, settings for how out of condition time values shoudl be handled and how incomplete cycles are handled.
Browse-Through
This feature allows any OPC Data Access client that connects to the OPC Time Monitor to browse "through" the OPC Time
Monitor and browse the OPC item list on any OPC server for which a connection has been exposed and retrieve the current value of an OPC item.
Auto-Discover
The Auto-Discover feature allows any OPC Data Access client that connects to the OPC Time Monitor to discover local and
remote OPC servers and connect to OPC items on those servers. This essentially provides for ad-hoc configuration of the
OPC Time Monitor via your OPC Data Access client. Although this feature is powerful, we recommend it be used with care as the auto-discovery of OPC servers on remote computers can be a slow process.
Congratulations - you are now ready to activate your OPC Time Monitor configuration and connect your OPC client.
